Apple has raised the starting price of the Mac Mini computer from $599 to $799 in response to inventory shortages and tight chip supplies driven by demand for artificial intelligence. The company is actually raising prices by canceling the entry-level configuration. The previous entry-level model was equipped with an M4 chip and 256GB of storage, and the starting version now has the same chip but storage has been increased to 512GB. The starting price of the M4 Pro model remains unchanged at $1399. Since the $599 configuration is sold out at most retail locations, it is no longer available. Other configurations are still shipping from the Apple online store, but may take several weeks or months, and the supply in Apple retail stores is also very limited.
