Xinjiang has issued directives to address six typical cases of destruction of forest and grass resources.

In order to crack down on illegal activities of destroying forests and grasslands, and to enhance the deterrent effect, recently, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Forestry and Grassland Bureau, together with the Forest Resources Supervision Commissioner's Office of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration stationed in Urumqi, jointly supervised six typical cases of damaging forest and grass resources to ensure the protection of forest and grassland resources. The six typical cases under supervision involve five cases of forest and grass destruction for cultivation, and one case of illegal occupation of grassland for a construction project. Among them, Ding from Yecheng County is suspected of destroying forests and grasslands for cultivation, the Chinese herbal medicine sun-drying project in Wensu County is suspected of using grasslands beyond the approved scope, Kou from Shule County and Guan from Moyu County are suspected of destroying grasslands for cultivation, Han from Yanqi County is suspected of destroying forests for cultivation, and weak forest management in Kuqa City and Shayar County has led to prominent issues of forest destruction for cultivation.
