The railway department advises short-distance passengers not to "buy long and ride short", and to purchase tickets in a timely manner.
In response to the issue of "tickets available for long-distance trips but not for short-distance trips" recently reflected by netizens, the person in charge of the Railway 12306 Technology Center introduced the ticketing strategy for long-distance passenger trains. It is recommended that passengers with short-distance travel needs try not to choose to purchase interval tickets for long-distance trains. If it is necessary to purchase interval tickets for long-distance trains for travel, when it shows "no tickets available," they can promptly submit a standby ticket ordering and make use of up to 60 combinations of "date + train number" for ticket purchases. The railway department will prioritize meeting the needs of passengers who have submitted standby ticket orders based on the payment time sequence of standby orders for the same train and interval when new ticket quotas are generated from ticket allocation, system dynamic deployment, passenger ticket refunds, exchanges, and opening of new trains, based on the principle of "first come, first served." The railway department advises short-distance passengers not to "buy long for short."
