On February 14th, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered a speech and answered questions at the 62nd Munich Security Conference. When talking about China-Europe relations, Wang Yi said that China and Europe are partners, not opponents. Wang Yi quoted a famous saying of Confucius "gentlemen can agree without being the same" on the scene, expressing the hope that both China and Europe can do gentlemanly things and take the path of gentlemen. Wang Yi said that China and Europe should join hands, jointly practice multilateralism, uphold the authority of the United Nations, oppose unilateral bullying, and resist confrontation politics.
