Market Supervision Administration: The new national standard electric bicycles are planned to be included in the 2026 supervision inspection plan.
According to the General Administration of Market Supervision, starting this month, all electric bicycles sold in the market must comply with the new "Technical Specifications for Electric Bicycle Safety" mandatory national standard requirements and pass the 3C certification. The General Administration of Market Supervision will carry out supervision and spot checks on electric bicycles on the market based on the new national standard, and plans to include them in the 2026 national spot check plan. The main focus will be on safety inspection items such as fire prevention and flame retardation, braking performance, vehicle speed limits, and short circuit protection. Any unqualified products and production and sales units discovered during spot checks will be rigorously investigated and punished according to law.
