Guangzhou Development Group Incorporated (600098.SH) has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Guangzhou Development Group Incorporated Power Group Limited (referred to as "Power Group") recently received the approval for the "Approval of the Guangzhou Zhujiang Power Plant's 2600MW Coal-fired Power Environmental Protection Replacement Project" from the Guangzhou Development and Reform Commission (Suifagaihe No. 38). The main content of the approval is to implement the national requirements for clean and low-carbon transformation of coal-fired power, as well as the "establish first, then modify" requirements for the coal-fired power industry, in order to ensure the energy and power supply security of Guangzhou. In accordance with the "Administrative Licensing Law" and the "Regulations on Approval and Filing Management of Enterprise Investment Projects", the construction of the Guangzhou Zhujiang Power Plant's 2600MW Coal-fired Power Environmental Protection Replacement Project (project code: 2208-440115-04-01-357966) has been approved. The project is undertaken by the Power Group, with a total investment of 5.739 billion yuan. The project will be located at 23 Huanshi Avenue North, Nansha Street, Nansha District, Guangzhou. The project will involve the demolition of the existing 4 units of 320MW coal-fired units, and the construction of 2 units of 640MW ultra-supercritical coal-fired generating units, as well as the simultaneous construction of flue gas desulfurization and denitrification facilities and other supporting projects. The project is a reconstruction at the original site, with no new construction land.
