Analysis: The Middle East is expected to benefit from Trump's increase in H-1B visa fees.
President Trump plans to increase H-1B visa fees, and the Middle East region is expected to be the main beneficiary of this policy. The Gulf region is actively striving to become the next global artificial intelligence center - with local sovereign wealth funds, global private equity firms, and US technology giants investing billions of dollars in this endeavor. Against this backdrop, the region may surpass other areas in attracting overseas professionals seeking opportunities due to policy uncertainties. Investors point out that Gulf countries' governments are promoting transformation through technology-oriented national strategies and creating a friendly business environment for technology companies: providing long-term golden visas for technical talent, streamlining regulatory processes, and offering various incentives for entrepreneurs. Francesco Filia, CEO of Fasanara Capital, said, "Gulf countries, especially Saudi Arabia, are offering top global compensation and benefit packages to attract top artificial intelligence talent from Silicon Valley." He added that the reasons why technology talent is attracted to the Middle East include top-tier salaries, low tax environments, and opportunities to participate in large-scale innovation projects.
