The delineation rate of the source protection zones for drinking water in Shaanxi is almost 100%.

On September 26, according to the Department of Ecology and Environment of Shaanxi Province, since the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan, Shaanxi has attached great importance to ensuring the water quality of drinking water sources. Up to now, a total of 1199 centralized drinking water source protection areas have been designated in the province. The designation rate of municipal-level and county-level centralized drinking water source protection areas and "thousand tons per ten thousand people" drinking water source protection areas has reached 100%. The designation rate of township-level drinking water source protection areas is over 95%, and the water quality compliance rate of urban centralized drinking water sources included in national assessments has been maintained at 100%.
