Minister of Human Resources and Social Security Wang Xiaoping introduced at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office on the 26th that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the overall employment situation has remained stable, the employment structure has continued to improve, and the quality of employment has steadily increased. By the end of August, the cumulative number of new urban jobs reached 59.21 million, exceeding the target of 55 million. The average urban surveyed unemployment rate for the past four years was 5.3%, lower than the expected control target of 5.5%. Stable employment has provided strong support for the overall stability of economic and social development.
