On the afternoon of September 16, the China Quality Conference held a special meeting in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, with the theme "Promoting the Modernization of Quality Governance and Boosting Consumer Confidence". Liu Min, Chief Engineer of the State Administration for Market Regulation, and Xia Xinmin, Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. During the session themed "Recalls for the People to Promote Development, Improve Quality, Increase Efficiency and Ensure Safety", the State Administration for Market Regulation released a special report on the results of product safety and recalls and typical cases of innovation in the management system of product safety and recalls. As of the end of August 2025, China has implemented a total of 3,203 car recalls, involving 120 million vehicles, and 6,639 consumer product recalls, totaling 109 million items. In the session themed "Communicating Quality Trust, Boosting Consumer Confidence", the conference focused on the application of quality credit, regional public brand enhancement, and qualification assessment in the transformation of product quality. The meeting also released reports on the quality credit brand of the intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry and typical cases of regional public brand communication to boost consumer confidence. The meeting pointed out that in the future, market supervision departments will focus on three key areas: firstly, strengthening the quality and safety bottom line with institutional innovation, continuously improving laws and regulations on product safety and recalls, strengthening the construction of enterprise product safety and recall compliance systems, and promoting enterprises to actively fulfill their obligations defined by the recall law. Secondly, empowering quality transformation with technology, actively promoting the application of technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data in quality governance, and realizing quality control throughout the entire lifecycle from research and development design to after-sales service. Thirdly, leading consumer upgrades through brand building, creating a group of "gold signboards" with both quality competitiveness and cultural influence, promoting more Chinese brands to go global, and making "Made in China" synonymous with high quality.
