The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the economic performance of the telecommunications industry in the first 8 months of 2025. The growth of mobile internet traffic continued to show a fast increasing trend, with the Daily Online Usage (DOU) value in August remaining high. In the first 8 months, the cumulative mobile internet traffic reached 253.4 billion GB, a year-on-year increase of 16.4%. By the end of August, the number of mobile internet users reached 1.601 billion households, with a net increase of 31.32 million households compared to the end of the previous year. In August, the average monthly mobile internet access per household reached 20.87GB, a year-on-year increase of 14.3%, which was 1.17GB higher than the end of the previous year.
