Citi Group is moving towards a potentially transformative technology that has been difficult for many companies to achieve so far. However, Citi stated that measures are being taken to achieve this goal. Citi's Chief Technology Officer, David Griffiths, said that starting this month, Citi will be testing a new "intelligent agent" feature within its proprietary AI platform that has been in development for the past two years. Griffiths stated that with this new update, users will be able to command an AI tool to perform multiple tasks with a single prompt and access multiple company systems. He said, "A few years ago, you could perform intelligent agent operations using early versions of models available at that time. But they were not always reliable or good at invoking tools. But now they can do it." Griffiths stated that Citi's internal platform uses a range of models, including Google's Gemini and Anthropic's Claude. With the new feature, users can command a tool within the platform called Citi Stylus Workspaces to complete multiple tasks in one step, from researching specific clients to building profiles for them using public and internal datasets, to translating them into foreign languages.
