According to the Ministry of Water Resources, during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the overall water use efficiency and benefits of the society have significantly improved, and the main goals and tasks of the "14th Five-Year Plan" for building a water-saving society have been completed ahead of schedule. The latest data shows that in 2024, the total water consumption in the country was 5.928 billion cubic meters, with the water consumption per 10,000 yuan of GDP and the water consumption per 10,000 yuan of industrial added value both decreasing by 17.7% and 23.6% respectively compared to 2020.
