Venezuela launches anti-drug operation in northwest coastal region.

On September 21st local time, Venezuelan Defense Minister Lopez announced the launch of Operation "Kumanagoto 200" to clear out organizations in the coastal areas of the northwest state of Sucre that are associated with drug trafficking groups. Lopez pointed out that in the neighboring areas of Macuro, Punta, and Paria in Sucre state, there is a high level of fuel smuggling, weapons and ammunition smuggling, and human trafficking activities. In response to President Maduro's orders, 60 rapid response units under the National Armed Forces will be deployed to 15 municipalities in the region, utilizing all naval, air, and ground forces to conduct live-fire exercises to completely eliminate any terrorist organizations and drug trafficking groups engaged in illegal activities.
