On September 19th, the Jiangsu Provincial Bureau of Statistics released the economic performance of the province in the first 8 months. The resilience of the industrial economy is highlighted, with new growth drivers leading the way. From January to August, the added value of the province's industrial enterprises above a certain scale increased by 6.8% year-on-year. In August alone, the added value of industrial enterprises above a designated size increased by 4.6% year-on-year. Among the 40 major industries monitored by the province, 26 industries achieved year-on-year growth in added value, with a growth rate of 65%. The advanced manufacturing industry played a strong leading role, with high-tech manufacturing leading with a growth rate of 10.7%, digital core product manufacturing growing at 9.9%, and sub-sectors such as pharmaceutical manufacturing and railway, shipbuilding, aviation and aerospace equipment manufacturing all growing at over 12%, demonstrating the solid pace and innovation vitality of Jiangsu's manufacturing industry towards high-end and intelligent transformation.
