Journalists have learned that important progress has been made in the genetic research of prehistoric populations on the Loess Plateau: the team of Wang Ke, Jin Li, and Li Hui from Fudan University reconstructed the full genome of 23 ancient human remains from the Longshan period to the Zhou period on the Loess Plateau. This study revealed for the first time the long-distance interaction between prehistoric populations from northern and southern China in this region, expanding the known range of interactions between prehistoric populations from northern and southern China by 800 kilometers northwards from the Central Plains to the northern Shaanxi Plateau. The research findings were recently published in the international academic journal "Cell Reports."
