New measures for air cargo transportation have been implemented in Xinjiang, resulting in a more than 90% improvement in the clearance efficiency of transhipped goods.
Recently, a new "direct access" mode for inbound and outbound goods at the airport has been implemented in Xinjiang. This new measure has greatly improved the customs clearance efficiency of goods being transferred between international and domestic flights. On September 19, a batch of 30.36 tons of exported goods under the supervision of Urumqi Tian Shan Airport Customs were transported by a full freighter that same evening to London, UK and Navoi, Uzbekistan. In the past, international goods arriving on domestic flights for transfer would have to undergo re-inspection, taking 2-3 hours in total. However, these goods, using the "direct access" mode, were able to transfer directly through internal channels and reach the international goods station within 30 minutes. Liu Jingyi, Deputy Director of Urumqi Tian Shan Airport Customs, stated that the "direct access" mode has broken through the physical barriers between domestic and international goods stations, increasing customs clearance efficiency by over 90%.
