The World Trade Organization report indicates that artificial intelligence technology is affecting the global trade landscape.
Recently, the World Trade Organization released the "2025 World Trade Report", focusing on the relationship between artificial intelligence and international trade, pointing out that artificial intelligence deeply affects the global trade pattern, and calling for multilateral cooperation to ensure that AI brings inclusive growth, rather than exacerbating differentiation. Artificial intelligence is bringing opportunities and potential to trade. The report points out that AI technology can enhance efficiency in areas such as consulting and research and development, and is expected to increase global total factor productivity by an additional 0.68 percentage points annually. According to WTO simulations, global trade is expected to increase by 34% to 37% by 2040, and global GDP is expected to increase by 12% to 13%, with trade in digitally deliverable services, including AI services, expected to grow by 42%. In addition, artificial intelligence can optimize supply chains, including improving supply chain transparency, predicting logistics bottlenecks, optimizing transportation routes; improving customs clearance and compliance efficiency, including automating customs clearance and compliance processes, reducing delays; overcoming language and information barriers, reducing cross-border communication costs by providing real-time translation and intelligent customer service; mastering market trends, analyzing international market trends, helping enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, better enter overseas markets.
