Hong Kong: Recorded a surplus of HK$105.5 billion in international balance of payments in the second quarter.

According to the Zhtng Finance and Economics APP, the Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department today (September 19) released preliminary statistics on Hong Kong's international balance of payments and international investment positions for the second quarter of 2025, as well as preliminary statistics on Hong Kong's external debt for the same period. Hong Kong recorded a surplus of 105.5 billion Hong Kong dollars (equivalent to 13.4% of GDP) in the second quarter of 2025, and reserve assets increased by the same amount accordingly. In the first quarter of 2025, a deficit of 85.4 billion Hong Kong dollars (equivalent to 10.7% of GDP) was recorded.
