The Nikkei 225 index closed down 257.62 points, a decrease of 0.57%, at 45045.81 points. The TOPIX index closed down 0.4% at 3,147.68 points. The Korean KOSPI index closed down 16.04 points, a decrease of 0.46%, at 3,445.26 points.
