President Trump defended the decision of the American Broadcasting Company to indefinitely suspend the show of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel following his comments on the conservative activist Charlie Kirk's death, stating that it was due to ratings concerns and disregarding concerns related to freedom of speech. Trump said at a press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starm at Thursday, "Jimmy Kimmel was fired primarily because his ratings were too low, and he also said very inappropriate things to Charlie Kirk, this excellent gentleman." Trump went on to say, "Jimmy Kimmel has no talent, his ratings have always been terrible, he should have been fired long ago. So, whether you consider this freedom of speech or not, he was fired because he lacked skills."
