NVIDIA announced on Thursday that it will spend $5 billion to acquire Intel common stock at a price of $23.28 per share. This price is slightly lower than Intel's closing price of $24.90 per share on Wednesday. However, it is higher than the U.S. government's purchase of 10% of Intel's shares last month at $20.47 per share. NVIDIA will become one of Intel's largest shareholders, and after issuing new shares to complete the transaction, NVIDIA may own 4% or more of Intel's shares.
