Today, the reporter learned from the Jiangxi Provincial Meteorological Observatory that since September, Jiangxi has experienced many days of high temperatures, with 42 counties in the central and southern regions of Jiangxi experiencing moderate to severe meteorological drought. Since September, Jiangxi has received an average of 49 millimeters of precipitation, close to the same period in previous years, but the distribution of precipitation is uneven. The northern part of Jiangxi has received 50% to 3 times more precipitation than usual, while other areas have received 20% to 90% less. Most areas in the province have experienced 11-15 days with temperatures above 35C, with the highest temperature reaching 39C in Shangrao and Yushan. According to the latest monitoring data, 42 counties in the central and southern regions of Jiangxi are experiencing moderate to severe meteorological drought. The meteorological department predicts that, influenced by weak cold air near the ground and peripheral circulation of tropical low pressure in the South China Sea, the high temperatures in Jiangxi will gradually ease in the future.
