Breakthrough in scientific research: Chinese scientists have decoded the century-old mystery of "plant cell totipotency."

On September 16th, Beijing time, the international famous academic journal "Cell" published online the research results of Chinese scientists, fully revealing the entire process of how a single plant cell develops into a complete plant. Professor Zhang Xiansheng and Professor Su Yinghua from Shandong Agricultural University, along with their research team, used advanced techniques such as single-cell sequencing and live imaging to capture for the first time the entire process of division of a single plant cell. This visually confirmed the "single-cell origin" of the pluripotency of plant cells, answering a long-standing question in the academic community.
