Ford plans to further reduce staff in Germany.
On the 16th, Ford Motor Company announced that due to weak demand in the European electric vehicle market, the company's Cologne factory in Germany will lay off 1,000 employees in early 2026. This means that the company's layoff scale in Germany will be further expanded, and it will involve the entire vehicle production department for the first time. The Cologne factory is Ford's electric vehicle production base in Europe. According to the new layoff plan, starting in early 2026, the factory's production shifts will be reduced from two shifts per day to one.
