As of press time, Houston Energy (HUSA.US) rose more than 1.8%, ExxonMobil (XOM.US) rose more than 1.7%, Total (TTE.US) rose 0.17%, Occidental Petroleum (OXY.US) rose more than 3.6%, ConocoPhillips (COP.US) rose more than 2.3%, Schlumberger (SLB.US) rose 0.37%, Marathon Oil (MRO.US) rose more than 2.4%.

The US government is in talks with investment firm Orion Resource Partners to establish a multi-billion dollar overseas mining project fund.
