Australia and New Zealand Bank: Wind power generation increases significantly, European natural gas prices fall.
In early trading, the price of European natural gas fell below 32 euros per megawatt-hour, mainly due to the increase in renewable energy generation and steady injection of natural gas into storage. Analysts at ANZ Bank stated, "German electricity prices have dropped to the lowest levels since December 31st of last year, as strong wind is expected this week to significantly increase renewable energy generation." Meanwhile, data from the European Gas Infrastructure Association shows that EU natural gas storage levels have exceeded 80%. Currently, traders are awaiting clear information on Western sanctions against Russia, while ample reserves help alleviate concerns about interruptions in Russian natural gas supply.
