The State Council Information Office held a press conference this morning, with the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs introducing the situation related to the high-quality development of agriculture and rural areas during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. At the press conference, it was introduced that since the start of the "14th Five-Year Plan", various regions and departments have set the goal of building a strong agricultural country, solidly and forcefully promoted key areas of rural revitalization, maintained a good momentum of stable and high-quality development of agriculture and rural areas, and provided strong support for the high-quality development of the economy and society. Since the start of the "14th Five-Year Plan", China's grain production has reached a new level, with grain production reaching 1.3 trillion catties for the first time in 2015, and then steadily maintaining above 1.3 trillion catties; in 2024, it exceeded 1.4 trillion catties for the first time, reaching 141.3 billion catties, an increase of 74 billion catties compared to 2020. China's per capita grain ownership has reached 500 kilograms, achieving basic self-sufficiency in grains and absolute food security, providing sufficient guarantee for grain security.
