The International Atomic Energy Agency's meeting calls for the maintenance of the global nuclear non-proliferation regime.

The 69th session of the International Atomic Energy Agency was held in Vienna, Austria on the 15th. The conference called for the peaceful use of nuclear energy and technology, and for the maintenance of the global nuclear non-proliferation regime. The Director General of the United Nations Office in Vienna, Valli, read out the message from the UN Secretary General Guterres to the conference. The message stated that the IAEA plays an important role in ensuring that nuclear science and technology are used only for peaceful purposes, and that as long as all parties work together, they can collectively ensure that relevant rules serve to promote development and protect humanity, "we must also continue to work to eliminate nuclear proliferation".
