The China Earthquake Networks Center officially determined that a 4.0 magnitude earthquake occurred in Qianwei County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province at 16:42 on September 15, 2025, with a depth of 10 kilometers. After the earthquake, the China Earthquake Administration quickly initiated a level four emergency response, coordinating with the China Earthquake Networks Center and Sichuan Province Earthquake Administration, listening to reports on the situation, and requesting relevant units to conduct joint consultations, strengthen earthquake monitoring and post-earthquake trend analysis, and timely report relevant information. Currently, Sichuan Province Earthquake Administration has dispatched a field work team to the earthquake-stricken area to assist local government in emergency response work.
