On September 15, 2025, the Beijing Cultural and Tourism Support Cooperation Brand Action and the launch ceremony of the South-to-North Water Diversion Self-Driving Tour were held. The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, in conjunction with multiple parties, announced the "Beijing Cultural and Tourism Support Cooperation Action Plan," clearly defining a model of "government guidance, enterprise participation, platform promotion" to jointly develop themed routes, promote unique products, and drive the upgrading of the cultural and tourism industry in supported cooperation regions. It is understood that the "South-to-North Water Diversion Self-Driving Tour Route" will include iconic attractions such as Danjiangkou Reservoir, Wudang Mountain in Shiyan, Dinosaur Fossil Park in Nanyang, Taihang Mountain Grand Canyon in Changzhi, and Shenongxi in Badong, creating an immersive cultural and tourism route that is "perceptible, experiential, and resonant." Using self-driving tours as a starting point, it can leverage Beijing's role as a source of tourists and a consumption center, while also activating the value of ecological and cultural resources along the route through the "culture and tourism+" model, providing a sustainable path for regional coordinated development. In the future, Beijing will continue to deepen its cooperation with 23 supporting regions across the country, promoting the cultural and tourism industry to become a "happiness industry" that increases people's income through brand building, market expansion, and mutual exchange of tourists.
