The Ministry of Commerce has launched an anti-discrimination investigation into the measures taken by the United States in the field of integrated circuits against China.
According to Article 7 and Article 36 of the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China, if any country or region adopts discriminatory prohibitions, restrictions, or other similar measures against China in trade, the People's Republic of China can take corresponding measures against that country or region based on actual circumstances. The Ministry of Commerce may initiate relevant investigations independently or in conjunction with other relevant departments of the State Council. The Ministry of Commerce has obtained preliminary evidence and information showing that the measures taken by the United States in the field of integrated circuits with China are in accordance with the situation of "adopting discriminatory prohibitions, restrictions, or other similar measures against China in trade" as provided in Article 7 of the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China. In accordance with Articles 36 and 37 of the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Commerce has decided to initiate an anti-discrimination investigation on the measures being investigated by the United States starting from September 13, 2025.
