National Bureau of Statistics: The automobile industry has entered a new stage of development driven by "technology + data".

The 2025 China International Forum on Automotive Industry Development opened today in Tianjin. The relevant person in charge of the National Bureau of Statistics stated that data, as a new type of production factor, is not only the core support for the intelligent evolution of the automotive industry, but also the key driving force for the future restructuring of the automotive industry ecosystem and the upgrading of the value chain. Currently, smart connected cars generate a large amount of high-quality perception, control, and interaction data daily, which can be widely used in areas such as large-scale model training for intelligent driving, high-precision map surveying, and traffic dispatch optimization. The relevant person also stated that China is currently in an era of industry transformation driven by data, where cars are no longer traditional mechanical products, but are gradually becoming intelligent mobile terminals integrating data collection, processing, and application. The development of the industry is shifting from a single technology-driven approach to a "technology + data" driven approach, and is gradually entering a new stage of data empowerment for the entire chain of development.
