Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport will become the first airport in the country with five runways.

As one of the regions with the highest airport density in the world, the Greater Bay Area has seen rapid growth in passenger and cargo traffic in the first half of the year. Currently, several airports in the Greater Bay Area are undergoing expansion, with various airport construction projects in full swing. Looking at the Greater Bay Area as a whole, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is set to become the country's first five-runway airport, Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport is expected to be put into use with three runways this year, and the expansion of Macau International Airport with reclamation work has begun.
