Midday Update: The ChiNext Index fell 1.77% in half a day, while gold stocks rose sharply against the market trend.

The three major indexes fell collectively in the morning session. As of the midday break, the Shanghai Composite Index fell by 0.29%, the Shenzhen Component Index fell by 0.89%, the ChiNext Index fell by 1.77%, and the CSI 50 Index fell by 1.84%. The total turnover of the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets and the ChiNext market was 1.3393 trillion yuan in the first half of the day, a decrease of 342.2 billion yuan from the previous day. Over 4,000 stocks in the entire market fell. In terms of sectors, the sectors with the largest gains were gold, non-ferrous metals, real estate, batteries, film and television media, and the automobile sector; while the sectors with the largest declines were medical services, lithography machines, semiconductors, consumer electronics, and photovoltaic equipment. Internationally, the price of gold continued to reach new highs, leading to a collective rise in gold stocks, with nearly 10 stocks such as Sichuan Gold, Western Gold, and Chifeng Gold hitting the daily limit up. The real estate sector was active, with Shouke Shares hitting the limit up for 5 consecutive days, and Suning Universal and Gorgeous Family also hitting the limit up. Stocks in the solid-state battery concept rose again, with Sky Shares, Guoxuan High-tech, and Tianci Materials leading the gains. The semiconductor sector faced a downturn and adjustment, with Semiconductor International falling by more than 10% at one point. Similarly, there were adjustments in the photovoltaic equipment sector, with stocks such as Tongrun Equipment, Suntech Power, and Yubang New Materials falling.
