This move is aimed at responding to the tariffs imposed by the United States on Japanese cars. The reports also indicate that Toyota will increase the production of hybrid models for the U.S. market and transfer the production of some high-end Lexus models to Japan. After the integration is completed, Toyota's Lexus factory in Indiana will become the brand's only production base in the United States.
