Research and development expenditures of our country's enterprises account for over 75% of the total research and development expenditures in society.

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the total number of national manufacturing innovation centers reached 33, breaking through nearly 700 key common technologies and overcoming the bottleneck from basic research to industrial application. China has designated a total of 187 key laboratories by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, selecting the first batch of 241 key pilot platforms for industrial and information technology by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, bridging the gap from "laboratory" to "production line" for products. In terms of innovation output, the number of invention patent applications by industrial enterprises increased from 907,000 at the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan" to 1.244 million by 2024, with the proportion of invention patent applications that year increasing from 60% to 65%. Minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Lecheng: Enterprise research and development funding has accounted for more than three-quarters of total social research and development funding. The turnover of technology contracts reached 6.8 trillion yuan in 2024. 22 industrial standard systems such as artificial intelligence have been issued, with 9,263 industry standards formulated and published, supporting domestic enterprises in leading the formulation of over 500 international standards. The industrialization rate of enterprise invention patents reached 53.3%, an increase of 8.4 percentage points from the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan".
