The floods in Pakistan may cause 10%-12% of rice in Punjab province to be damaged.

Pakistan's "Business Recorder" quoted Javed Gilani, Vice Chairman of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan, as saying that about 600,000 to 700,000 acres of land in central Punjab province have been affected by the floods. Javed Gilani stated that the water levels in Punjab province have started to recede.
