Passenger mistakenly opens the emergency door of Air China flight and is fined over 70,000 yuan.
According to the cover news, on the evening of July 4, 2024, at Quzhou Airport in Zhejiang, a passenger mistakenly opened the emergency door of an Air China flight, thinking it was the toilet door, causing the emergency slide to automatically deploy, resulting in an economic loss of over 110,000. When questioned by the airport police, Zhang explained, "I felt that the door to the airplane toilet was strange, it wouldn't open easily. I really needed to use the restroom, so I used force to pull it open." Afterwards, Air China sued the passenger. On September 6, it was reported that the Keqiao District People's Court in Quzhou, Zhejiang Province, issued a first-instance judgment, holding the passenger 70% responsible for the damages and ordering Zhang to compensate Air China for all losses totaling 77,593.46 yuan.
