Recently, the egg futures market has shown signs of recovery. On September 5th, the main egg futures contract closed at 2964 yuan/500 kg, up nearly 2% from the low point on September 2nd. On September 5th, the average price of eggs in Chinese agricultural wholesale markets was 7.73 yuan/kg, up 1.84% from September 2nd. Industry insiders said that there is a demand for rebound in the market after overselling, coupled with increased seasonal stocking demand and short funds exiting, all of which together are driving a short-term rebound in egg prices. However, the current egg-laying chicken farming is still in a loss-making state, and the enthusiasm of farmers to eliminate old chickens is not high, leading to continued pressure on egg market supply, which may limit the extent of the current round of price rebound.
