The Lebanese military plans to gradually control all weapons in the area to prevent their transfer between regions.
On the afternoon of the 5th local time, the Lebanese cabinet convened a meeting to discuss topics such as the weapon control plan proposed by the Lebanese military. According to sources, the army's plan includes a phased "control" of weapons in all of Lebanon, and preventing weapons from moving from one area to another. The Lebanese army has requested all armed groups to gradually disarm in phases, starting with the southern region of the Litani River, then the area between the southern Litani River and the Awali River, expanding to the capital Beirut, and finally covering the Bekaa Valley in the east. The plan also includes continued disarmament of armed groups in refugee camps in Lebanon and expanding the authority of the army throughout Lebanon.
