On September 4th, Hang Seng Bank announced that Diana Cesar will retire as the Chief Executive Officer of the bank in October and will be transferred back to HSBC Limited in Hong Kong as the Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong region to provide advice to the Co-Chief Executive Officers of HSBC Asia and the Middle East. Diana Cesar will no longer serve as an Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the bank, as well as the Chairperson of the Operational Committee and a member of the Nomination Committee. HSBC Hong Kong's Chief Executive Officer, Irene Lee, will take up the position as the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the bank starting from October (the appointment is subject to regulatory approval).
