Hubei will have a high-speed rail network of 1 to 2 hours.
On September 3, at a press conference held by the Hubei Provincial Government Press Office, Dou Huidong, deputy director of the Wuhan Railway Supervision and Administration Bureau, said, "Currently, there are 19 main railway lines in Hubei, with a total operating mileage of 5,820 kilometers, including 2,155 kilometers of high-speed rail. All 17 cities and prefectures have achieved high-speed rail connections, forming the basic shape of a "rice" pattern high-speed rail network in Wuhan and moving towards a super "rice" pattern hub. The high-speed rail coverage rate in counties and cities throughout the province is close to 50%." In the future, Hubei will focus on the three national high-speed rail arteries of Beijing-Guangzhou, Shanghai-Kunming, and along the Yangtze River, and plan a series of high-speed rail projects such as Wuhan to Hefei, Yichang to Fuling, and Yichang to Changde, forming a high-speed rail network that can be reached within 1-2 hours within the province and within 3-4 hours for national urban clusters.
