Standard & Poor's: Mitsui Sumitomo Trust Holdings' issuance of US dollar bonds receives a "BBB" credit rating.

On September 2, Standard & Poor's awarded Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Holdings, Inc. (Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Group, Inc., referred to as "Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Holdings") an A- stable rating for its issuance of USD-denominated subordinated notes due in September 2036 with a "BBB" rating. Standard & Poor's expects that based on Japan's capital adequacy requirements, the aforementioned subordinated notes will be considered compliant with Basel III regulations as Tier 2 capital.
