China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization Energy Cooperation Platform Inauguration Ceremony Held in Beijing

From the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration, it was learned that on September 2nd, the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization Energy Cooperation Platform Inauguration Ceremony was held in Beijing. The leader of the National Energy Administration stated that energy cooperation is an important part of regional pragmatic cooperation. Since China assumed the rotating chair of the SCO last July, Chinese companies have signed contracts for over 160 new, construction, and production projects in the field of electricity and renewable energy with SCO member states, as well as over 60 projects in the oil and gas sectors, totaling approximately 380 billion yuan, becoming a strong driving force for regional economic and social development. In the next step, the National Energy Administration will further leverage the platform, deepen practical exchanges and cooperation in the energy sector with SCO member states, expand new spaces for clean energy cooperation, enhance the energy governance capacity of the region, and create a safe, green, and shared development platform, taking practical actions to achieve more fruitful results in China-SCO energy cooperation.
