As of yesterday, Shanghai had experienced 26 consecutive days of high temperatures in August, the highest number since meteorological records began in 1873. In addition, this August saw a total of 27 days with high temperatures, surpassing the previous record of 26 days set in 2024, making it the August with the highest number of high temperature days since 1873. The third record is that this August marks the first time that high temperatures have persisted in the latter half of the month.
