Recently, there has been heavy rainfall in the central and northern parts of Hebei, leading to flooding in some areas, while the southern regions are relatively dry. These factors have had a certain impact on the growth of autumn grain crops such as corn. In response, Hebei has implemented targeted measures based on different regions, disaster situations, and crops, in order to minimize yield reductions in affected areas and increase production in unaffected areas, striving to achieve a bountiful harvest of autumn grain. A relevant official from the Hebei Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs mentioned that there are 69 demonstration counties in Hebei for increasing corn yield per unit area, with a planting density for spring corn increased by 300 to 700 plants per mu compared to previous years, and a planting density for summer corn increased by 600 to 800 plants per mu compared to previous years. The overall growth of corn in areas that have not been affected by disasters is good, laying a solid foundation for a high harvest.
