The Brazilian stock market hit a record high at the close, with a cumulative increase of nearly 6.3% in August. The Real has risen by about 3%.
The So Paulo Stock Exchange index rose by 0.26%, closing at 141,000 points, reaching a new historical high for the second consecutive trading day. At 23:24 Beijing time, it had reached close to 142,400 points. It has accumulated a 2.50% increase for the week and a 6.28% increase for the month of August. The Brazilian real has also increased by 3.05% against the US dollar, closing at 5.4290 reais on August 29th, climbing steadily from August 1st to 12th and then fluctuating at a high level from the 11th to the 29th.
