Hong Kong Monetary Authority: The supply of Hong Kong dollar currency M2 and M3 in July both increased by 6.2% year-on-year.
According to the financial news app the Wall Street Journal, on August 29, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority released the currency statistics for July. In July, the Hong Kong dollar money supply M2 and M3 both fell by 1.8%, compared to the same period last year, they both increased by 6.2%. In July, the seasonally adjusted Hong Kong dollar money supply M1 fell by 2.3%, compared to the same period last year, it increased by 18.5%, partly reflecting investment-related activities. The total amount of money supply M2 and M3 both increased by 0.1% in July, compared to the same period last year, M2 and M3 both increased by 10.8%.
