Recently, the National Key Laboratory of Sensor Technology of the Aerospace Information Innovation Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, in collaboration with the Department of Neurosurgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University, successfully completed a clinical trial on "Precise Localization of Brain Deep Tumor Borders Based on Implantable Microelectrode Arrays." This marks the first clinical trial worldwide in which brain-machine interface technology has been applied to precisely locate the boundaries of deep brain tumors during surgery, indicating a significant breakthrough in China's independently developed implantable clinical brain-machine interface technology. This technology provides real-time, high-precision "lesion navigation" for neurosurgery, with the potential to maximize the removal of tumors while protecting healthy brain tissue to the greatest extent possible. It also has important clinical value for promoting the preservation of postoperative neurological functions and quality of life for patients. (CCTV News)
